In the fall spirit I'm sharing some of my favourite recipes using pumpkin- which is actually a really nourishing addition to your meals. Read on to find out why pumpkin deserves a place in your kitchen and some great ways to get started.

A full cup of the easy to use canned pumpkin is only 83 calories contains 7 grams of soothing and digestive system toning fibre. It is packed full of Vitamin A, C and E for healthy skin, hard to get magnesium for strong bones and potassium which helps to keep blood pressure in check. Talk about a nourishing food!
If you're using canned, skip the sugar sweetened pumpkin pie filling and just buy plain canned pumpkin. If you've got the time, pick up pumpkins from your local patch to cook up! You can cube and boil it before freezing to last over the winter or even freeze the puree in to cubes for easy use.
